Tips & Tricks: Ways to Stay Calm

 

At Kabana we understand what it’s like to try to do it all. Between balancing work, family, social gatherings and everything else that comes unexpectedly, we always make sure to take some time for ourselves because we can only do our best when we are feeling our best. Below you will find three of our most effective ways to feel calm, focused and ready to tackle the work week.

 

1. Exercise
We know that exercise may seem like a chore to some, but we can’t ignore the positive benefits that exercise provides. From the immediate mental clarity to the long term physical health improvements, exercise is something that helps us stay healthy, strong and focused. Next time you’re feeling stressed, take a 30-minute walk, or join a spin class. You’ll finish feeling accomplished and more centered.

2. Get a massage
If you find that your neck and shoulders are still tense from a long work week, book a massage and take an hour or two out of your day to let your mind and body relax. Our recommendation? Find a masseuse that utilizes essential oils in their practice, such as lavender or jasmine. You’ll walk out feeling totally zen.

3. Go offline
When life gets overwhelming, many of us turn to electronics to keep our minds preoccupied on anything else other than our problems. Instead of reaching for your phone next time you’re feeling anxious, try reaching for a pen instead and begin writing down and sorting through your frantic thoughts. Not much of a writer? Get some fresh air outside with your kids and reflect on the good and simple things in life that make you feel happy and fulfilled.
